“Life’s a vapor so make the most of it and give everything your all.” This is the message that Oceans hopes to portray through their music. Oceans, a VHS student band, consist of Senior, Mick Grocholl, and Juniors, Jon Schwerdtfeger and Joey Moinar. Inspired by artist such as Mumford and Sons and Jack Johnson, Oceans gives a folky, beachy vibe through their tunes! The name Oceans was chosen in an uncommon way, “My father picked it from my Marine Biology book,” Mick tells us. These boys plan to do big things after high school and have great ambition to be as successful in the music industry as possible. They knew they were doing something right when they found out they were an influence to a little boy who now wants to be a musician after seeing them play at Relay for Life. That, along with their gigs at Juice n’ Java are their biggest achievements as a band. You can always expect the best out of this terrific trio; they’re always writing and learning new songs for their supporting peers. As for their fans they want you to know how much they love you and how humbled they are by all your support. We all wish Oceans the very best of luck with their future as a band and hope to hear more from them soon! For more information on the band you can find them at youtube.com/OceansMusic or facebook.com/Oceans. Also, come out to Juice n’ Java on May third from 7-10pm to support Oceans at their next gig!
