Greek yogurt was just introduced into the States recently and has been spreading like wildfire throughout the country. The experts claim this yogurt is full of vitamins, live and active cultures, and can eating 18 ounces a day can help drop pant sizes! Here at Viera, many students bring their lunch and surprisingly, many of these lunches contain Greek yogurt! The live and active cultures in the yogurt contain live probiotics (cultures) that help regulate digestive health and strengthen the immune system! These vitamins and minerals contain about sixty percent of what adult women need every daily. These health benefits include a drop in diabetes, reproductive system benefits, fights against certain cancers, and can help stabalize your immune system. Senior Lauren Robinson brings Greek yogurt every day for lunch. “My fav[orite] flavor is pineapple, and I literally bring it everyday. It fills me up and I actually enjoy the taste.” Reicha Lopez, senior, also enjoys the taste and also likes the pineapple Chobani Greek Yogurt. Though they bring greek yogurt everyday, they did not know to the extent of the health benefits it provies. Lauren advises Viera High School students to at least try greek yogurt! The health benefits are beyond worth it, and it comes in a plethora of flavors.
