Sticking to Your Health Related New Year’s Resolution

Every year comes and goes, and every year most of our resolutions are the same as the last. Unfinished, old goals from last year. You may find yourself thinking, “Well…. I tried?” Not to worry this year! With these helpful tips and tricks you can complete your health related fitness goals for 2014.

First thing to start off your fitness endeavors is you need cute, stylish work out clothes. When you look good, you feel good. Things like new Nike sneakers, or a new sport bra are motivation and a reminder of your goals.So you can think about why you started. Tori Wiles, an 11th grader, explains, ” My motivation is to make myself become more healthy and physically fit.”

With this day and age, a new form of motivation has come that your parents never had access to.The internet is full of different webpages with advice and help. Twitter has lots of fitness accounts you can follow. They feature at home workouts, healthy recipes, and pictures of people’s’ progress in there weight loss journey. Sophomore, Jordan Walsh, gives a good example of what social media fitness accounts can do for you, “Social media makes me perceive the ideal girl as fit and in shape.” Many other students said they use this as an end goal.

Eating healthy is the key to weight loss. You can do all the exercise in the world but if you don’t eat right it all goes to waste. Www.Livestrong.com has meal plans, and healthy dinner options. Even the small changes will help immensely, such as changing your daily soda to a smoothie, or better yet, water! You’re supposed to have about 64oz of water daily to keep good health. Also another quick cheat to weight loss is go to bed! You need your eight hours a night.

You should workout 30 minutes daily. Doing normal everyday things such as cleaning house, gardening, or mowing the lawn count. If you’re running on a treadmill or find working out boring you can always listen to music, or watch TV. Eleventh grader Chris Kelley says, “Headphones are a must have,” in order to get “swoll af”. Switch up your workouts also. This prevents your body from plateauing and keeps things exciting!
